While much of the attention for Green Bay Packers fans this week has been centered on whether Josh Jacobs will play against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 23, he’s not the only running back they’ll be focused on.
Former Packer Aaron Jones returns to Lambeau Field for the second time since he signed with the Vikings and, this time, he wants to earn his Lambeau Leap.
Jones had 139 total yards last season in his return to Green Bay but didn’t score a touchdown. However, he celebrated his leading role in the Vikings’ win with a postgame jump into the stands.
“I gotta smell the end zone,” Jones said in a news conference Nov. 19. “Find a way to make it happen one way or another and then get my leap in [during the game] instead of after [the game] this time.”

Jones has rushed for 70 or more yards only twice this season in part due to a hamstring injury, but he’s averaging 5.7 yards per touch, including receptions. He had a season-high 16 caries last week. The Vikings are 25th in rushing but average 4.7 yards per carry.
While the Vikings look to be getting their running game going, the return of Christian Watson helped revive the Packers’ passing attack last week. Watson’s pair of touchdowns Nov. 15 helped Green Bay beat the New York Giants, 27-20.
Along with looking for a second straight victory to keep pace in the NFC playoff standings, the Packers will be trying to avoid a third straight home loss to the Vikings at home. Though they’re favored by a touchdown, the Packers have sometimes struggled against teams with losing records and are just 3-6-1 against the spread this year.
It’s probably reasonable to expect another close game. Here’s how to watch it:

Packers predictions, odds
Pete Dougherty: It’s a home game the Packers really can’t afford to lose, and the guess here is Micah Parsons and Co. will get to McCarthy enough to make the difference. Packers 23, Vikings 17
Tom Silverstein: After playing arguably his best game of the year last week, quarterback Jordan Love needs to go on a hot streak. Whatever the case, this should be a close one. Packers 26, Vikings 23
Ryan Wood: If they drop this game and slip to 6-4-1, the idea of missing the playoffs might not be likely, but it certainly becomes possible. I expect the Packers to take care of business in a game they need to have on their home field. Packers 23, Vikings 17
Dominique Yates: This is a crucial stretch for the Packers with three straight divisional games. I think they have to at least take care of the home games. Packers 20, Vikings 17
