The college basketball season continued to ramp up during the Week of Nov. 17. With Thanksgiving right around the corner and Big Ten Conference still yet to begin, standalone marquee matchups are defining the sport’s opening session.
Across the Big Ten, those games include No. 23 Wisconsin’s loss to No. 9 BYU, No. 8 Illinois’ loss to No. 11 Alabama, No. 1 Purdue’s win over Alabama and the Boilermakers’ triumph over No. 15 Texas Tech. While those teams still have time and opportunities to improve before conference play heats up in January, the results continue to indicate what to expect as the season progresses.
As of Nov. 24, Purdue is firmly cemented as the Big Ten’s top team, Illinois is likely its top contender and Wisconsin is trending negatively after an uncompetitive loss to BYU.
