Marquette's Royce Parham won’t make roster for USA Basketball's U19 team

Marquette’s Royce Parham had a strong showing at the USA Basketball U19 training camp but won’t make the final roster. Parham was not among those who survived a cut to 15 finalists on June 19. The roster will still need to be trimmed to 12.

Parham, who will turn 19 on July 31, was one of 31 participants in the tryout in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He made the initial cut to 18 finalists on June 16 and stuck around for more evaluation.

The team will feature some of the best young talent in the country, including A.J. Dybantsa, the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class who will play at BYU next season, and Tyran Stokes, the top-ranked player in the 2026 class.

Parham averaged 5.1 points and 2.2 rebounds over 34 games as a freshman for MU. The 6-foot-8 forward was the Golden Eagles’ youngest player.

The U.S. team will compete in the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup from June 28-July 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland.  It is coached by Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd, with Notre Dame’s Micah Shrewsberry and Texas Tech’s Grant McCasland as assistants.
