A fire has caused a Hales Corners restaurant to close until further notice, Hales Corners fire officials say.
On Oct. 6 at 3:41 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to The Hale House, 10539 W. Forest Home Ave., after two people driving by saw flames coming from the building.
When firefighters arrived, they found a blaze on the exterior of the building which had spread into the kitchen area, according to a news release from the Hales Corners Fire Department. Crews brought the fire under control by 4:06 a.m.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
Investigators said a towel bin outside but adjacent to the building was the possible area of origin for the fire. The ignition source of the fire remains under investigation, and the restaurant will remain closed while damage is assessed. The total amount of damage to the restaurant is not yet known.
The Hale House confirmed fire officials’ report on its Facebook page on Oct. 6, saying the restaurant will remain closed due to the fire and the damage assessment process.
“We are thankful no one was hurt. We appreciate all the support from the community already and hope to be back up and running soon,” the restaurant said in the Facebook post. “We will provide updates as we work to reopen.”
In the post, the owners encouraged patrons to visit them at the other restaurants they own, The Local, W191S6409 Hillendale Drive, Muskego, and The Slow Buffalo, 3872 S. 92nd St., Milwaukee.
The Hale House opened in Hales Corners in 2015, according to the restaurant’s website.
The Slow Buffalo restaurant was also forced to close due to the August Floods, according to the owners on The Slow Buffalo’s Facebook page.
The owners announced on Sept. 28 that The Slow Buffalo was getting closer to reopening as they were waiting for the installation of a few new pieces of equipment and were anticipating reopening the restaurant within the next few weeks.
