A new restaurant is set to open in East El Paso.
Longhorn Steakhouse was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1981 and became part of Darden Restaurants, the same company behind franchises like Chuy’s, Olive Garden, and Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, in 2007. Today, there are over 500 Longhorn Steakhouse locations across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Offering a wide variety of steaks, chicken and seafood, Longhorn Steakhouse has grown into a thriving casual steakhouse franchise. Additionally, the company has donated nearly 28 million pounds of fresh food since 2008 to help those in need.
The new location will be the first in El Paso.
Where is it?
The new Longhorn Steakhouse will be located at 12237 Montana Ave. near the intersection of Loop 375.
Nearby are the Pueblo Montana Apartments, and just down the street are a Weinerschnitzel, a Peter Piper’s Pizza and a Portillo’s. The steakhouse is being built right next door to a brand-new Olive Garden, which appears to be close to completion.
What was there before?
The Longhorn Steakhouse is a new site. Construction will include a full-scale restaurant, a dumpster enclosure, parking lot, landscaping and all utilities.
The building is set to be 3,724 square feet with a capacity of 247, according to the city’s permit and licensing website.
Who is the contractor?
Work on the $2.5 million project is being completed by Regas Contracting, based in Stafford, Texas.
The project, which was marked for expedited review on the city’s database, is currently pending.
