After sweeping the Vanderbilt Commodores in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals Sunday evening, the Texas A&M Aggies are set for a semifinal match against the Texas Longhorns, with an opportunity to advance to the finals to compete in the championship game for the first time in school history.
Five Aggies secured aces in the victory over the Dores on Sunday, while Logan Lednicky continued her dominance with a team-best 14 kills. Texas A&M head coach Jamie Morrison will need another impressive performance from his squad to topple the Longhorns, who are riding momentum from one of their most dominant outings of the year, which featured Texas outscoring Ole Miss 75-36 in a total sweep of the Rebels in their respective quarterfinal match.
The Aggies and Longhorns are fighting again for in-state supremacy and another set of bragging rights, as Morrison’s squad looks to capture their second win of the campaign over Texas, after defeating Jerrit Elliot’s team 3-2 on Oct. 28.
