The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies (10-0, 7-0 SEC) will host the Samford Bulldogs (1-10) at Kyle Field, aiming to remain undefeated at home during the regular season.
On Saturday, A&M will step onto Kyle Field for the final time this regular season and take another stride toward securing a College Football Playoff berth. As long as A&M avoids an extreme letdown like the one they experienced in the first half against South Carolina, we should see several depth players earn playing time, particularly seniors.
This will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs, but there is a fascinating tidbit Aggie fans will appreciate. Former Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher was Samford’s quarterback in 1987, when he was named NCAA Division III National Player of the Year. Now, in 2025, his son Ethan Fisher will serve as one of Samford’s captains against the Aggies.
Does Samford have a chance? No. Can Texas A&M still stumble in a dominant win and fail to help themselves? Yes. The objective for A&M is not to lower its standards simply because it is heavily favored. If last week served as a wake-up call for A&M, then this week is the actual test of remaining focused and demonstrating dominance from start to finish.
