The Dallas Cowboys have finally broken through, winning two games in a row for the first time in 2025. The back-to-back victories out of the bye week have allowed them to even their record at 5-5-1, and keep their miniscule playoff hopes alive. Making the postseason is still a pipe dream, but the odds slightly increase with each victory.
Their next opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Thursday, are like the prior victim, the Philadelphia Eagles — defending conference champions. They, however, have a lengthy track record of being able to score points against the style of defense the Cowboys deploy, meaning the onus to find a path to victory lies with the offense. And the offense has been humming over the past two games thanks to wide receiver George Pickens.
Pickens has had back-to-back games as the club’s top receiver, logging nine receptions for 140-plus yards and a score in both wins. However the Philadelphia game and the short turnaround to Thursday saw Pickens dealing with an injury, actually multiple injuries.
What are Pickens’ injuries?
The Cowboys didn’t have a normal week of practice due to the short week, but Pickens appeared on their first practice report with not one, but two issues. He emerged from the victory over the Eagles listed with both knee and calf injuries, a major concern for a wide receiver.
Pickens was listed as DNP, Did Not Participate, for Monday, but that was a simulated list as the team didn’t hit the field. However, Pickens was able to be limited in Tuesday’s practice and was a full participant on Wednesday. The star receiver didn’t receive a game designation and is set to get a full workload on Thursday.
