El Paso police arrested a 60-year-old man who allegedly shot another man multiple times at a home in the Upper Valley over the weekend.
Kevin Carl Welch was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a shooting on Sunday morning in the 200 block of Lombardy Avenue in the neighborhood of the El Paso Country Club, stated a news release by Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman.
A 59-year-old man was transported to a hospital in undisclosed condition after he was found with multiple gunshot wounds by police officers responding to a call of a shooting at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, police stated.
The investigation was taken over by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit, who arrested Welch.
The name of the man who was shot, a connection between both men and a possible motive in the shooting have not been disclosed by police as the investigation continues.
Welch is jailed under a $750,000 bond at the El Paso County Jail in Downtown.
