It looks as though it will be one more week until it’s Turpin Time again for the Cowboys.
Wide receiver and return ace KaVontae Turpin was seen at Wednesday’s team practice, but he was working off to the side with trainers on resistance cords. He told reporters after the session that even though he’s out of the protective boot he had been wearing, he does not expect to play this Sunday when the team travels to Charlotte to face the Panthers.

According to Turpin, he’s likely to to suit up again for Week 7’s home date with the Commanders. Despite the back-to-back absences, that timetable would prove the Cowboys were right to not place Turpin on injured reserve, where he would have been required to sit out for at least four contests.
The All-Pro left Week 5’s tie with Green Bay late in the game with a foot sprain and subsequently missed last week’s win over the Jets. Ryan Flournoy saw plenty of additional time at wide receiver as a result and had a breakout performance; he now stands to figure heavily into the offensive game plan for a second straight week.
On special teams, rookie Jaydon Blue handled one kickoff return for 32 yards against New York with Turpin out, while wideout Jalen Cropper returned one punt for eight yards. Jalen Tolbert and Miles Sanders have also pitched in on returns previously this season, but Sanders was listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury.
