An Abilene man was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Thursday night in Callahan County, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
Michael Adrian Lopez, 44, of Abilene was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash, DPS officials said in the news release.
According to the preliminary investigation, Lopez was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport utility vehicle traveling west on FM Road 18 near milepost 424 in Callahan County.
Jason Riley Miller, 19, of Abilene was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado truck traveling eastbound on FM Road 18 when he failed to drive on the correct side of the road and entered the other lane hitting Lopez head-on, the DPS media release said.
Miller was transported to Hendrick North Hospital with minor injuries, the news release stated. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
