2026 5-star DL has canceled his LSU OV after visiting Texas A&M

One of Texas A&M’s priority prospects in the 2026 recruiting class took an official visit to College Station this weekend, as five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown, who was a frequent visitor during the spring period, is inching closer to his commitment date on Thursday, July 10. After was had been deemed as a highly successful visit this weekend, Brown took to social media to deliver a revealing message that could be good news for the Aggies.

“Think this one close the book….”

While coach Mike Elko and his staff have a ways to go to land the highly coveted lineman, things got even more interesting on Sunday night after Brown reportedly canceled his upcoming official visit to LSU on June 20, as the Louisiana native is now likely considering Texas A&M and, possibly Miami or Texas going forward, with the Aggies in the lead.

Again, nothing is set in stone, but knowing that Brown does not have an official visit set up before his July 10 commitment looks like great news for Elko and his staff, would win one of the most significant recruiting battles during my time covering the program.

Regarding the future of Texas A&M’s defensive line, which includes 2025 signee Marco Jones, Landon Rink, DJ Sanders, and Chace Sims, adding another elite prospect with NFL potential as soon as he steps on campus is certainly a sign that the Aggies’ will dominate in the trenches for the next three seasons.
