“The Summer I Turned Pretty” story will continue with a feature film, Prime Video announced hours after the season 3 finale of the show aired Sept. 17.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Jenny Han, author of the young adult book series, said in a release from Prime Video.
“I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans,” she said.

Is there going to be a ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ movie?
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” will conclude its story with a feature film installation directed by Han, and written by Han and Sarah Kucserka, the release reads. The surprise news was announced at the series finale red carpet celebration in Paris.
When is ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ movie coming out?
Prime Video did not release a premiere date for the movie. The time between the show’s seasons may give fans some indication of what to expect. Seasons 1 and 2 released one year apart. Fans had to wait two years between seasons 2 and 3.
What is ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ movie about?
Prime Video provided very little detail about the movie’s plot and said “story details are still under wraps” in the release.
However, there’s a good chance fans will get to see Belly and Conrad get married at the summer house, a pivotal scene not included in the season 3 finale.
Belly and Conrad’s beach wedding was one of the last, if not the last, scenes in Han’s third and final book “We’ll Always Have Summer.”
