Rain and snow to move into Greater Cincinnati on Thanksgiving weekend

A hazardous mix of rain and snow is expected to move into Greater Cincinnati over the holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters predict that Thanksgiving and Black Friday will be mostly sunny or somewhat cloudy, albeit with cold temperatures, but hazardous weather caused by wintry precipitation will move into the area Saturday evening, Nov. 29.

Those conditions will continue into early Sunday, with the possibility of light snow accumulations, forecasters said. More rain and snow will be possible again Monday night into Tuesday.

“Some uncertainty remains in the forecast regarding exact timing and amounts,” the weather service said in a hazardous weather outlook. “Please continue to monitor the forecast for updates.”

Friday, Nov. 28: Sunny, with a high near 35 degrees. Mostly clear at night, with a low of around 21 degrees.

Saturday, Nov. 29: A chance of snow, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 40%. Snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible. Rain at night, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all rain after 4 a.m. The low will be around 31 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 90%, with snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday, Nov. 30: Rain likely before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 41 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 60%. Mostly cloudy at night, with a low around 23 degrees.

Monday, Dec. 1: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34 degrees. A chance of snow at night after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday, Dec. 2: Partly sunny, with a high near 34 degrees. Partly cloudy, with a low around 18 degrees.Source: The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.
