INDIANAPOLIS — The stage is strictly for the prospects now as the NFL combine moves into its third day of podium interviews.
The first day was reserved for many of the league’s coaches and general managers, including Browns general manager Andrew Berry. The second day was largely for the defensive line and linebackers prospects, save for one group of coaches/general managers, including Browns coach Todd Monken.
Day three is all about the tight ends and defensive backs. Also, it’s the first day of actual drills inside Lucas Oil Stadium, featuring the defensive linemen and linebackers.

Ohio State cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr. appreciates playing with brother Sonny
There’s more than one Styles from Ohio State at the NFL combine. While Sonny Styles is seen as one of the top linebackers in the draft, his brother Lorenzo Styles Jr. is trying to make the same mark as a cornerback.
“There’s been a lot of hard work, especially with him,” Lorenzo said. “He’s been a part of my journey; I’ve been a part of his journey. It’s very important to our family. Being able to do it with him means everything to me.”
Baylor TE Michael Trigg just one of 12 in his family
To say Baylor tight end Michael Trigg has a large family would be an unreal understatement. Trigg, who previous stops included USC and Ole Miss, is one of 12 half-siblings.
“Crazy,” Trigg said. “I mean, I grew up in a house by myself. We have a lot of half siblings, but, like, right now, we all in the same group chat. We all talk every day. A lot of group FaceTime. No, like, you know.”
TE Oscar Delp picked Georgia because of Todd Monken
There’s at least one tight end prospect who knows all about Browns coach Todd Monken. Georgia tight end Oscar Delp was a Class of 2022 recruit to the school, whose offensive coordinator at the time was, wait for it, Monken.
“I chose Georgia and part of the reason was because of Coach Monken,” Delp said. “I watched what he does with the tight ends and their offensive scheme is amazing. He’s an awesome guy. Super down to earth coach. He’s a guy who’s going to coach you hard and that’s what I want in a coach. The way he uses tight ends and how detailed he is in everything that he does, whether if it’s alignments or plays and depths, its unreal.”
Monken was at Georgia from 2020-22 before going to the Baltimore Ravens to become their offensive coordinator. The Bulldogs won back-to-back national championships in 2021-22.
Monken was hired by the Browns about a month ago. Delp said he had an “awesome” meeting with the team already while in Indianapolis
“I would love that,” Delp said of playing for the Browns. “Any team I’d love to be a part of, but to be able to play for Coach Monken again and all of the great coaches that he has on that staff, would be amazing.”
Browns propose increasing time limit for trading pick
The Browns have proposed a rule change which will extend the time limit for trading draft picks, according to Pro Football Talk. According to the report, the change will impact a the amendment to Article XVI, Section 16.6 of the NFL Constitution & Bylaws “to allow draft selections to be traded up to five (5) seasons in the future.”
Currently, the time frame is three years. It would need 24 votes to pass when it’s voted upon, either at the March or May owners meetings.
LSU CB Monsoor Delane believes in being physical
There’s a sterotype around cornerbacks in the NFL that they’re afrair of being physical. Don’t tell that to LSU cornerback Monsoor Delane.
“You know, if I had the choice, you know, I’d play middle linebacker in that college,” Delane said. “You know, I just love, you know, physicality, I love, you know, tackling, I love being in the box, you know, so being able to just kind of bring those attributes over to safety, you know, and being a corner, it just makes it easy. A lot of corners might be scared to tackle, but I love it.”
Indianapolis Colts give QB Anthony Richardson permission to seek trade
The hometown Colts have gotten in the news with a report from ESPN’s Stephen Holder that they are giving quarterback Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade. Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft, has been limited to 17 games and 15 starts over three seasons due to injuries and ineffectiveness.
Richardson has completed 50.6% of his passes for 2,400 yards with 11 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 21 sacks and a 67.8 passer rating. He’s also rushed for 634 yards and 10 touchdowns on 115 carries.
D’Angelo Ponds talks journey from JMU to Indiana to national championship
Part of what Curt Cignetti built with the Indiana University football program was done so through a group of his former James Madison University players. One of those was cornerback D’Angelo Ponds, who’s viewed as one of the top players at his position.
“Yeah, to put it simply, it’s been crazy for me,” Ponds said at the combine. “It’s like you said, coming from JMU to Indiana and winning the national championship, doing something that nobody expected us to do. It’s just, it’s been crazy. It’s just a blessing just to even be here. Obviously, it was a national championship was a couple weeks ago. So a quick turnaround for me, but I’m just happy to be here.”
Miami’s Reuben Bain Jr.’s arm length opens eyes
There was always a concern about the arm length of Miami edge rusher Reuben Bain Jr. Those arms have an official length now at 30 7/8 inches.
There has never been an edge rusher selected in the top 100 of the draft with sub-31-inch arms. Bain’s arm length, at least in general, had been something NFL scouts were aware of even while he was in college.
“None of the teams seem to be too concerned with it as long as I just talk the talk and walk the walk and play with technique,” Bain said Feb. 25. “Nobody really asked me about it.”
Ohio State CB Davison Igbinosun credits program for overall development
Cornerback Davison Igbinosun was a quality cornerback as a freshman at Ole Miss. However, he transferred to Ohio State after that season and has seen his career take off.
“Just going into the building at Ohio State, you’re surrounded by so much talent that you have no choice but to compete and rise to the level,” Igbinosun said. “So I would say just the competition at Ohio State forces you to be at your best.”
Ohio State safety Caleb Downs makes case for being best
There’s a lot of draft experts who believe one of the best players in the draft is Ohio State safety Caleb Downs. However, there’s a debate about just how high he’ll go because of his position.
Downs scoffed at that notion.
“At the end of the day, it’s who’s the best defender,” Downs said, It’s not really positional value — it’s who affects the game. If you affect the game in a lot of ways, that’s what’s most important. So that’s really all I can worry about honestly. I can’t worry about what anybody else says or what the coaches have done. At the end of the day, my film is what it is, and they can make a decision based off of that.”
Asked if he was the best defender, Downs replied, “Yeah.”
Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy won’t work out due to ACL recovery
Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy is viewed as one of the top-end cornerbacks in the draft class. That’s despite being about 13 month removed from a January 2025 anterior cruciate ligament tear that held him out of the 2026 Volunteers season.
McCoy said he will not work out at the combine. However, he did indicate he has been cleared to return.
“Yeah I can, but I’m doing it all at pro day,” McCoy said.
Jets, Titans agree to swap defensive linemen, per reports
The first major transaction of the combine has come out, according to multiple national reports. The New York Jets have agreed to send 2022 first-round defensive end Jeremaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for nose tackle T’Vondre Sweat.
The deal can’t be formally finalized until the league year officially begins at 4 p.m. March 11.
Clemson CB Avieon Terrell comforable with versatility
One thing necessary for a lot of prospects coming into the league is a positional versatility. That’s especially true with cornerbacks being able to play both outside and in the slot.
Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell admitted that’s something he’s can handle.
“When you’re inside, you’re more in the box, you’re more around the field,” Terrell said. “I feel comfortable at both. I can play both. I’m going to feel comfortable going inside. I’m comfortable going outside. Just being able to do both feels good.”
