The Moeller football star thanked Purdue head coach Barry Odom, assistants Josh Henson and David Wayne Spurlock in his social media post. He noted their hospitality on his official visit last weekend as Purdue was on a bye.

McCutchan was a key component of the Crusaders’ success over the past two seasons and drew attention from several Power Four programs. In his junior and senior seasons, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end racked up 899 yards and 14 touchdowns. McCutchen is the No. 77 tight end in the nation, according to 247 Sports.

McCutchan received offers from 29 FBS programs, including Cincinnati, Indiana, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin. McCutchan decommitted from Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Tar Heels in a post on X on Nov. 5, after previously committing back in May. He landed on the Purdue Boilermakers, currently 2-9 in a rebuilding season in the first year under head coach Barry Odom. Odom had a combined 19-8 record in his two-year stint as the head coach at UNLV before taking the Purdue job.
