Once again, the NFL has had to pull out a hammer and address altercations between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The NFL previously suspended and upheld the ban for Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase due to his spitting at Jalen Ramsey.
Saturday, the league’s weekly day to announce punishments for the prior week’s infractions, the NFL issued a fine and some omissions from the latest AFC North slugfest.

A quick summary:
Of note, as Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio pointed out, the league didn’t specify which Ramsey outburst actually got fined:
“Ramsey had two incidents at the same time in the game for which the fine was imposed — fourth quarter, 13:28 to play. First, Ramsey and Chase drew offsetting unsportmanlike conduct fouls after a third-down play. Then, before the next snap (but after the Bengals called a timeout as the play clock approached zero), Chase spit on Ramsey, Ramsey struck Chase, Ramsey was flagged again, and Ramsey was ejected.”
Perhaps the NFL gave Ramsey a mulligan for the second incident, considering Chase committed an action that got him suspended.
Regardless, the NFL ultimately issued one fine despite a few eyebrow-raising things from both sides of the latest Bengals vs. Steelers throwdown.
