Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith forecast optimism about a possible return for the Buckeyes’ game at archrival Michigan on Nov. 29 during a recent podcast appearance.
“I should be good to go Saturday,” Smith said on a podcast hosted by safety Caleb Downs and his brother, Josh Downs, a wide receiver in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.
The podcast, which is known as Downs 2 Business, released a clip on social media on Nov. 24 to preview its upcoming episode.
Smith was unavailable for the first time in his career last week during the Buckeyes’ win over Rutgers.
His unspecified injury had also limited him to just 22 snaps a week earlier against UCLA. He made an early exit in the second quarter against the Bruins after catching four passes 40 yards.
But Smith suggested on the podcast that his health is improving.
“I’m feeling good,” he said.
The update from Smith followed earlier comments from Day that said he and fellow star receiver Carnell Tate were in the trending direction.
In his appearance on the “Buckeye Roundtable” on 1460 AM, Day said both had good days of rehab on Nov. 24.
“Nobody wants to play more than those two guys,” Day added.
