Jackson Township trustees
Sept. 9 meeting

ACTION: Authorized requesting assistance from the Regional Planning Commission to acquire a property at 6856 Lake O’Springs Ave. NW.
DISCUSSION: During the regular meeting, the trustees voted to request the commission send notices to the landowners for back taxes due and begin the foreclosure process if the taxes continue to go unpaid. Once it is foreclosed, Jackson Township becomes the owner and can resell it.
The bungalow-style, three-bedroom home sits on 1.8 acres and is owned by Tome Stambolziovski, according to Stark County Auditor’s Office records. The unpaid taxes are more than $9,100, according to county records. The property is appraised at $219,000.
This is the third recent targeted acquisition made by the township. The first was at 2212 Amherst Ave. NW, which is in the foreclosure process, and the other property is at 7811 Parkford St. NW, which is for sale by the township.
