How to watch Columbus Blue Jackets seek vengeance for OT loss to Edmonton Oilers

After finishing a tough road trip with an shootout win Nov. 11 in Seattle, the Blue Jackets return to Columbus for a rematch against the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 13 at Nationwide Arena.

It’s a chance for the Blue Jackets (8-7-1) to even the score against the Oilers, who beat them 5-4 in overtime Nov. 10 in Edmonton. Overcoming a 4-2 deficit in the final six-plus minutes, including a short-handed goal with 58 seconds remaining, the Oilers won in overtime on a breakaway goal by Columbus’ own Jack Roslovic.

Losses to Western Conference teams often require months, if not a full season, for Eastern Conference teams to avenge, but the Blue Jackets get their second crack at Edmonton in a span of four days.

Roslovic’s lone return of the season to his hometown to face his former team, accompanied by stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, will complete back-to-back games for Edmonton that begin Nov. 12 against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Blue Jackets are tied for last in the Metropolitan Division with the Washington Capitals at 17 points, but it’s still early and they’ve gotten their longest road trip out of the way. Teams coming off long western trips usually struggle re-adjusting their bodies to the Eastern Time zone in their first game back, and the Blue Jackets went through five time-zone changes while zig-zagging through Western Canada and Seattle.

They’re also fighting a flu-like illness that has caused several players to miss at least one game, and captain Boone Jenner is questionable with an upper-body injury that caused him to leave the game in Seattle after just one shift in the second period.
