Cambridge Christmas parade

CAMBRIDGE − The annual Christmas parade sponsored by Cambridge Main Street will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 29 in downtown Cambridge. The theme is “Christmas Fun for Everyone.”

Christmas in New Concord

NEW CONCORD − The annual tree lighting will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 by the New Concord Library with parade following at 6:30 p.m. Santa Claus will be on the last float and visit with children after the parade in Village Park. Christmas in the Village activities will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the park. All events are sponsored by the New Concord Area Board of Trade.

Free Thanksgiving dinner

CAMBRIDGE −The J. David Stout Memorial Thanksgiving Community Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 27, at First Christian Church, 1127 Beatty Ave.

Dinners will be available for dine-in and carryout. Meals can be delivered to county residents with no means of transportation if arranged between Nov. 12-25. The church organizes this effort to provide a turkey dinner for those in need at no charge. For more information, call the church at 740-432-5923.

Applications for Christmas with a Deputy

CAMBRIDGE − The Guernsey County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 136 is accepting applications for its Christmas with a Deputy program. The program pairs officers with children for a holiday shopping event and is for children ages 2 to 12 who live in Guernsey County, excluding City of Cambridge residents.

Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Dec. 5 and can be found at https://fop136.org/christmas-with-a-deputy-application/. Up to three children per family can apply. A parent or guardian must accompany the child and meet eligibility guidelines.

Cookie bake sale in Freeport

FREEPORT − The Freeport Church of the Rock, 222 High St., will hold a Christmas cookies bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 13. Cookies are $4 a dozen and candy is $4 a bag. Breakfast and lunch will be available.

● The Guernsey County District Library Board will meet at 2 p.m. Nov. 24, at Byesville Branch Library.

● The Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation will meet at 8 a.m. Dec. 12, at the County Administration Building.

● The Coshocton City School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Dec. 18, at the Garfield Administrative Center.

● The East Guernsey Local School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 18, at Buckeye Trail High School.
