A 1-year-old girl needed “a few weeks” treatment in intensive care after officials said she was assaulted by her babysitter.
Amanda Greger, 37, was charged with nine courts, including felonious assault and child endangerment, in connection with the assault on a family friend’s daughter on Nov. 9, according to a release from the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office. She faces up to 23 years in prison.
Greger was the caretaker for six children on Nov. 9: her two children plus the four she was babysitting. She was “admittedly intoxicated” from vodka, THC and muscle relaxers, according to the release.
When the child’s mother returned home, prosecutors said the girl was bloody and unresponsive.
Enquirer media partner Fox 19 reported the mom took her daughter to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and staff at the hospital reported the injuries to Goshen Township police.
The child suffered a ‘significant brain bleed’ and retinal hemorrhaging, among other injuries reported. Doctors indicated this was non-accidental trauma and not the result of a medical condition, the release stated.
Greger is set to appear in court on Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. where her bond will be decided.
