The Cleveland Browns, in rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ first career NFL start, dismantled the Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 24-10. The win has ignited the fanbase with a glimmer of hope after the debut of a highly anticipated and glamorous player, not only among the fanbase but also among other Cleveland superstars as well.
Sanders, who threw for 209 yards and a touchdown on the day, gave his signature “wrist up” celebration as he exited the field in Sin City, and he was not the only one. Cleveland Cavaliers’ superstar Donovan Mitchell, after dropping 37 points in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers, exited the arena rocking the popular gesture.
Mitchell, as he exits the court, says:
“Let em know! And the Browns won, too. You see it. You see it.”
As Mitchell repeats, “You see it,” he raises his wrist in a salute to Sanders, who picked up his first win as a starter in his first career start.
Will Sanders pan out as the long-term option in Cleveland? Who knows? The odds are stacked against him as a fifth round pick. That does not seem to be deterring the young quarterback, however, and he has been a rallying figure among fans and other stars in Northeast Ohio and elsewhere.
