Allyn’s Cafe, a staple of Columbia Tusculum, will close in late October after 34 years of service, the restaurant announced on Facebook Oct. 6.

The Cajun restaurant’s last day of service will be Sunday, Oct. 19.
“Please come visit us in the next two weeks, buy a round or two for the kitchen, and leave a big tip for your server and bartender,” the Facebook post reads.
The announcement comes one year after founder and namesake Allyn Raifstanger sold the spot to Sam Dobrozsi, a local restaurateur, who also owns Fireside Pizza, in Walnut Hills.
Raifstanger commented on the Facebook post: “I sold the restaurant one year ago. The new owners have decided to close the restaurant after a year. The Legacy that we have is due to all of our faithful customers over the past 33 and 1/3 years. I wish you all the best, I’m very sad to see this end.”
