Vote for the lohud Girls Soccer Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital

Last week in local girls soccer included a few upsets, some statement-making victories and plenty of superb individual performances. There were stars who excelled on both ends and at goalkeeper, giving us 10 nominees for the Player of the Week poll, presented by White Plains Hospital.

Read below about what the nominees accomplished last week, then cast your votes.

The first winner this season was Alexis Diaz of Albertus Magnus.

The poll will be open until 3 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be featured on the lohud sports social media accounts.

Corina Armster, Sleepy Hollow

Continuing her torrid offensive pace, the junior had five goals and an assist this week, leading the Horsemen to three wins.

Kayla Cambareri, John Jay-Cross River

She scored twice in the Wolves’ 3-0 win against Clarkstown North, and the senior had two assists in their victory over Brewster.

Lilliana Cardona, New Rochelle

The goalkeeper made nine saves in a scoreless tie against Scarsdale last Friday.

Isabella DeBacco, North Rockland

The junior had two defensive saves in the second half, including the stop of a free kick, helping the Raiders complete a 4-1 win over Arlington – their first since 2015. DeBacco also blocked a shot during a fast break and leaped to deflect another attempt in the final minutes.

Alexa Lacatena, Harrison

She made 15 saves in a scoreless tie against Rye last Monday.

Brooke Matarazzo, Tuckahoe

The junior had three goals and two assists to lead the Tigers in a 6-4 win over Hastings.

Caitlin Paisley, Bronxville

The sophomore has driven Bronxville’s offense, scoring seven goals in their first six games, including four that decided the match.

Sienna Paldin, North Salem

She totaled five goals last week, including two in the Tigers’ 3-1 win over Putnam Valley and she had two goals and an assist in their 3-3 tie with Brewster.

Paige Pena, Ossining

The senior scored eight goals in three games last week, including two in a 3-2 win over New Rochelle. Pena also notched each of her team’s five goals in a win over North Salem.

Gabriella Petriello, Hackley

The senior scored four goals, including the 42nd of her career, setting a program record for Hackley in a 6-0 win over Fieldston. She eclipsed the previous mark of 39 goals, which was set in 2014, and she surpassed 100 career points.
