We’re going to start each week of the football season by recognizing some of the individuals who performed exceptionally well over the weekend. Please catch up on what our finalists got done on the field, then vote for the player who had the biggest impact for lohud Football Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.
The poll will remain open until Wednesday at 3 p.m. and we’ll feature the winner on lohud sports social media accounts.

Zack Alperowitz, Mamaroneck
The senior wideout got up in the air to snag a 19-yard touchdown pass from Henry Kelly as time expired, got his toes down inside the end line and gave the Tigers a 25-24 win over Monroe-Woodbury in a NYSPHSAA Class AA regional final.
Jeremiah Bowen, Sleepy Hollow
The junior quarterback was off the charts efficient, leading the Horsemen to a 46-26 win over Saugerties in a NYSPHSAA Class B regional final. He completed 4 of 6 passes for 195 yds and three touchdowns. He also ran for a TD and picked off two passes, taking one to the house.
Connor Brice, Tuckahoe
The senior quarterback choreographed a 46-16 win over Burke Catholic in a NYSPHSAA Class D regional final, going 49 yards for a touchdown on the second play of the game. He completed 6 of 12 passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns and carried three times for 128 yards and two more scores.
Theo McMurray, Bronxville
The junior quarterback completed 11 of 12 passes for 154 yards and four touchdowns and carried twice for 15 yards and one touchdown in a 56-26 win over Chester-Seward in a NYSPHSAA Class C regional final.
Carson Miller, Rye
The senior quarterback completed 12 of 15 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns, leading Rye to a 42-14 win over Minisink Valley in a NYSPHSAA Class A regional final. He also ran for 45 yards on four carries.
Josh Simmons, Iona Prep
The junior defensive end was named most outstanding defensive player honors and locked down a 42-20 win over Monsignor Farrell in the CHSFL AAA championship game with a 31-yard catch to keep the clock moving and then a tightrope, sideline interception.
