Stock up, stock down following the Jets' 23-10 loss at Ravens

The New York Jets (2-9) were not able to end their losing streak by inserting veteran Tyrod Taylor into the lineup at quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens (6-5).

New York was coming off a tough loss to the New England Patriots and making Taylor the starter led to a familiar result.

The Jets lost to the Ravens in a 23-10 final in Week 12 despite Taylor having a solid outing against the Ravens even when the plays where New York left something on the field. Jets running back Breece Hall was the main source of offense for New York, but wide receiver John Metchie III also showed his ability to consistently make plays in the passing game to make Taylor’s job easier.

While the offensive numbers for both teams are either similar or exactly the same, but there were just some plays that the Ravens were able to make that the Jets still have to learn how to make if they’re going to win games like this.

With that, here is Jets Wire’s stock report following the Jets’ loss to the Ravens:

Stock Up: QB Tyrod Taylor

Taylor was put into a tough spot when he was named the starting quarterback in place of Justin Fields as the Jets are looking for some kind of spark to hopefully run the table to a wild card spot in the playoffs. While New York is far from that reality and is more likely to be looking forward to the 2026 NFL Draft, Taylor stepped into the starting quarterback role and was an efficient dual-threat against the Ravens.

Stock Neutral: RB Breece Hall

This is the first time that this weekly article has included a stock neutral entry, but that description is the perfect way to explain Hall’s performance against the Ravens. Hall has had some relatively-quiet games recently, but against Baltimore, he couldn’t make anything happen on the ground. While Hall made some huge plays in the passing game, he also fumbled the ball in one of the biggest moments of the game to set the Jets back.

Stock Up: DT Jowon Briggs

After the Jets traded away defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, someone in the middle had to step up in his absence and Briggs was the guy against Baltimore. With Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson not exactly himself after missing some time due to injury, Briggs was one of the players responsible for making Jackson leave the pocket early, leaving himself up to pressures and sacks.

Stock Down: DE Will Mcdonald IV

Part of McDonald’s job is to draw attention from opposing offensive lines to free up some of his teammates for one-on-one situations that could lead to pressures and sacks. However, McDonald did even less against the Ravens than he did last week against the Patriots and given that New York lost, that is an indication that the team needs more out of McDonald outside of the attention he commands.

Stock Up: WR John Metchie III

Metchie showed signs of being able to make plays for the Jets last week against the New England Patriots, but this game against the Ravens solidified the fact that he should be part of the starting wide receiver corps moving forward. Metchie was consistently getting open against Baltimore’s pass coverage and he was able to make plenty of plays for Tyrod Taylor.

Stock Down: RB Isaiah Davis

After having what looked like his breakout game this season three weeks ago against the Cincinnati Bengals, Davis has underwhelmed for the last three weeks, including Sunday’s game against the Ravens. Davis brings a level of speed and physicality to the Jets backfield, but even when New York has looked for others to make plays outside of Breece Hall, Davis hasn’t been able to deliver recently.
