Josh Allen explains frustration caught on Bills sideline vs. Texans

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen explained why he appeared to be frustrated on his team’s sideline in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans.

The Bills (7-4) lost 23-19 against the Texans (6-5) on “Thursday Night Football” at NRG Stadium in Week 12. Buffalo had their chances late but did not capitalize.

Among the Bills’ failed chances was a fourth-down failure when running back James Cook ran the ball up the middle and was not even close to getting a first down. After, cameras caught Allen on the sideline saying “what are we doing?”

Following the contest, Allen did sound a bit critical of offensive coordinator Joe Brady and how that moment went down.

“In a situation like that, probably should’ve banged a timeout. We got the play in late and didn’t give ourselves a chance there,” Allen said.

It’s not a direct shot but there seems to be some kind of deeper meaning behind that from Allen which could be about Brady in that moment.

For what it’s worth, Brady did get support from head coach Sean McDermott.

“Joe is a good coach and we have a good offensive staff,” McDermott said via video conference. “I’m fully confident in Joe as our leader.”
