In the mid-Hudson Valley for Thanksgiving? Weather to watch out for

The weather during the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday weekend has it all: gusty winds on Thanksgiving Day; sun and clouds alternating throughout; and rain and maybe a little snow in some places to cap it off Sunday night.

That’s how the National Weather Service’s long-range forecast for Thanksgiving and the weekend that follows is shaping up as we approach mid-week.

Thanksgiving 2025 forecast in mid-Hudson Valley

Thanksgiving itself will be partly sunny, with highs in the low 40s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the upper 30s in Sullivan County.

But there will be sustained winds ranging from 10 to 18 mph in all four counties, and wind gusts in excess of 30 mph.

But those wind gusts should die down by nighttime. Thanksgiving night will be partly cloudy, with lows in the mid-20s in Orange and Sullivan counties, and the low 30s in Dutchess and Ulster counties.

Black Friday, Thanksgiving holiday weekend forecast

Black Friday will be partly sunny in Orange and Dutchess counties, and mostly cloudy in Sullivan and Ulster counties. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s in Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the mid-20s in Orange and Sullivan counties.

Small Business Saturday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 30s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the mid-30s in Sullivan County.

The night will be mostly cloudy, with lows in the mid-20s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the low 20s in Sullivan County.

Nov. 30 will be cloudy with a 40% chance of rain showers in all four counties. There will be highs in the mid-40s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the low 40s in Sullivan County.

The night will be mostly cloudy, with lows in the upper 20s in Sullivan County, the low 30s in Orange County and the mid-30s in Dutchess and Ulster counties.

There is a 50% chance of rain and snow showers in Dutchess and Ulster counties, a 50% chance of rain showers in Orange County and a 40% chance of rain showers in Sullivan County that night.
