A look at Putnam Valley NY, a town of lake communities and full of history

Putnam Valley is a historic town in western Putnam County, bordering Philipstown and Carmel, with about 11,000 residents.

Nested in the Hudson Highlands, the community is about an hour north of New York City, but centuries away from the city’s hectic lifestyle. It features several lakeside communities and attractions including the Town Park, a family favorite with everything from pickleball courts to a dog park.
