Iowa (6-0) made the largest leap in the latest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll. The Hawkeyes are ranked 14th, a six-spot jump after wins over then-No. 10 Baylor and Miami in the WBCA Showcase in Orlando, Florida.
Sophomore center Ava Heiden led the Hawkeyes in their wins over Baylor and Miami. The 6-foot-4 center averaged 19 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Heiden shot 64% from the field in the two contests.
Iowa sophomore guard Chit-Chat Wright sustained an upper-body injury in the second half against Baylor. Wright’s injury status remains day-to-day, and she did not practice on Monday.

With Wright’s status cloudy, Iowa will likely turn to a combination of sophomore guard Taylor Stremlow and freshman Addie Deal to log some of the minutes vacated by Wright.
