Iowa (5-0) picked up a massive resumé-enhancing win on Thursday night in its opening game of the WBCA Showcase from State Farm Fieldhouse in Orlando, Fla., as the 20th-ranked Hawkeyes downed No. 10 Baylor, 57-52.
Terrific defense, the continued rise of sophomore center Ava Heiden and a career-high spark from sophomore guard Taylor Stremlow off Iowa’s bench were among the night’s key takeaways.
Now, Iowa turns its attention to Miami (4-0). But, the Hawkeyes will do so without sophomore guard Chit-Chat Wright.

While Iowa didn’t specify what injury Wright was dealing with, the 5-foot-4 guard exited early in the second half of Iowa’s win over Baylor and didn’t return.
Miami arrived in Orlando with wins over Hofstra, Bethune-Cookman and Florida Atlantic. Then, Miami opened its trip to the WBCA Showcase with a 66-58 win over Davidson.
