Looking to answer the call in its first significant action of the year, No. 20 Iowa women’s basketball faces No. 10 Baylor to open the WBCA Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex right outside Orlando. ESPN2 will televise today’s 8 p.m. contest.
The Hawkeyes (4-0) routed Southern, Evansville, Drake and UNI to start the season. None of those four foes reached 60 points or shot better than 36% from the field against a young Iowa team that needed an early confidence boost.
Meanwhile, Baylor (4-0) also enters this one on an impressive start. After pulling a top-10 upset over Duke on the season’s opening day, Baylor has beaten Lindenwood, UNLV and Le Moyne since. This will be the first Iowa-Baylor meeting since the 2019 Elite Eight.
