Iowa City Regina softball player Laci Chambliss and Iowa City West baseball player Eli Nolte were voted by readers as the Press-Citizen’s Athletes of the Week for June 9-15.
Chambliss won girls Athlete of the Week with 52% of the vote.
Chambliss had a solid game despite Regina softball’s 5-4 loss to Durant on June 9. The senior catcher tallied two RBIs and a hit during her only time at the plate.
Nolte earned boys Athlete of the Week with 51% of the vote.
Nolte powered Iowa City West baseball to a 12-2 win over Xavier on June 9. The junior third baseman tallied two RBIs with a hit against the Saints.
