Iowa women's basketball provides update on Chit-Chat Wright injury

Iowa women’s basketball player Chit-Chat Wright will not be available for Saturday’s game against Miami in Orlando, Fla.

An Iowa spokesperson confirmed to Hawk Central that Wright will miss the Hawkeyes’ game due to an upper-body injury sustained in Thursday’s Baylor game.

The spokesperson said Wright will be considered day-to-day once the team returns from Orlando.

Wright was fouled as she attempted a shot early in the third quarter against Baylor on Thursday and landed hard on the court.

She was tended to by trainers for several minutes before being helped up. Wright was then carried off the court by two Hawkeye staffers.

Iowa coach Jan Jensen did not disclose the nature of Wright’s injury during a postgame interview on Hawkeye Radio. The 20th-ranked Hawkeyes defeated No. 10 Baylor 57-52.

Wright is the only player listed on Iowa’s availability report, which was released two hours before the Hawkeyes’ 7 p.m. CT game vs. Miami.
