It looked like the Notre Dame women’s basketball team was going to lose to bitter rival USC on Friday night, but star guard Hannah Hidalgo had something to say about that.
With the Irish down 11-points in the second half, but stormed back early in the fourth quarter to put themselves in position for the upset victory. Hidalgo provided the highlight of the game, as her pull-up jumper from the right elbow with a hand-in-her face sent Purcell Pavilion into a frenzy.
The Irish upset the No. 11 Trojans, as they improved to 4-1 on the year, and sent the rivals back home with a 3-2 record. Notre Dame will have the rest of the weekend off and will get back on the court on Monday to host Central Michigan.
