At least one outlet claims that Notre Dame has the best recruiting class for 2026.
On3 Sports says that the Fighting Irish, according to their metrics, are number one.
It’s a bit tricky, since Blue & Gold uses an industry ranking for its articles, but On3’s internal ranking has the Irish at number one, even if that’s not the case for the industry ranking.
The difference is half a point — the industry ranking has USC over the Irish by a half-point, but On3’s own ranking has them tied, with an unknown tiebreaker putting Notre Dame on top.
In both rankings, the top five are rounded out by LSU, Georgia and Ohio State.
Scoring semantics aside, it’s exciting to think that the Irish, coming off a berth in the national championship game, have one of the top two recruiting classes in the country.
