No. 1 Purdue basketball vs Memphis in The Bahamas results: Boilermakers fend off physical Tigers

No. 1 Purdue basketball deals with the physical Memphis Tigers to post an 80-71 win in the first round of the Baha Mar Championship in The Bahamas.

Purdue coach Matt Painter said courtside in his postgame interview that his team learned how to deal with physical play. Purdue was called for 21 points and Memphis was 17-of-25 on free throws. The Tigers committed 13 fouls and Purdue made 9-of-11 free throws.

The Boilermakers (5-0) play the winner between No. 15 Texas Tech and Wake Forest in Friday night’s championship game.
