Anthony Richardson remains on injured reserve, but ESPN’s Stephen Holder provided a brief update on Thursday on the Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback.
Richardson was placed on injured reserve after the Colts’ Week 6 matchup against Arizona. In warmups prior to that game, Richardson suffered an orbital fracture.
Here is what Holder had to say about Richardson:
Head coach Shane Steichen was asked about Richardson recently and didn’t have any specifics on when he could return from injured reserve.
However, Steichen did say that if/when Richardson returns, he will resume his role as the Colts’ backup quarterback behind Daniel Jones.
Without Richardson, rookie Riley Leonard has been the backup behind Daniel Jones. Veteran Brett Rypien is on the practice squad.
Speaking of Jones, he is currently dealing with a fibula injury. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport would report that it is a fracture that Jones is working through.
But both Jones and Shane Steichen have made it clear that he will be good to go for this week’s game against the Houston Texans.
