With the Indianapolis Colts’ bye week here, let’s take a look back at which players on defense have received the highest grades from Pro Football Focus up to this point in the season.
For a look at the offensive side of the ball, you can find that here.
Below is a look at PFF’s grading system for some context. While this metric is very helpful when it comes to quantifying a player’s performance, PFF’s grading system isn’t the be-all and end-all either. It is one metric out of many that are out there.
Indianapolis Colts’ 5 highest graded players on defense at bye week
Latu leads the team in pressures, and compared to his position group league-wide, he’s been one of the highest pass-rush win rates.
Quarterbacks haven’t often looked Ward’s way, but when they do, he’s allowed 10 receptions on 16 targets for just 67 yards with three pass breakups.
As is often the case with Buckner, he has been a force, both as a pass rusher and in the run game.
Bynum’s versatility has been important in Lou Anarumo’s defense. He’s also been sound in the run game and has strong ball production with two interceptions and three pass breakups.
Lastly, Moore has continued to be that steady presence for the Colts in their secondary. He’s surrendered a completion rate of just 59%, while coming away with one interception and three pass breakups.
