PORTLAND, IN — A two-vehicle crash has resulted in the death of a 16-year-old Portland girl.
Angelina J. Geesaman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, on Saturday, July 5, at Jay County Road 700 East and Indiana 26.
According to the Commercial Review, Geesaman was a passenger in a southbound Chevrolet Corvette driven by Isaac M. Springer, 18, Pennville, when the car ran a stop sign at the intersection.
The Corvette collided with an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Mitchell D. Rockwell, 22, of rural Portland.
Springer, who suffered what was described as a minor head injury, told police his car’s brakes locked up as he approached the intersection.
