Whether the Indianapolis Colts win on Sunday or if they lose, their playoff chances will take a major swing.
Awaiting the Colts in Week 13 is a home matchup against the 6-5 Houston Texans, who have won three games in a row and could be getting CJ Stroud back at quarterback.
Houston also boasts one of the stingiest defenses in football. This will be the first of two matchups over the final six games.
With a win over the Texans, the Colts would improve to 9-3 on the season. According to Pro Football Focus, at that point, the Colts’ playoff chances would sit at 90% — or make them a near lock.
But on the flip side, a loss to Houston and the Colts fall to 8-4, with their playoff chances at 56%.
The Colts will enter Sunday’s game at 8-3 and as the three seed in the AFC, trailing 10-2 New England and 9-2 Denver.
Indianapolis also remains at the top of the AFC South race, although that lead has tightened. The Colts are just one game up on the 7-4 Jaguars and two games up on the 6-5 Texans.
