Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner was listed on the team’s first injury report of Week 13.
Gardner was officially listed as a limited participant with a back injury.
Of note, the Colts did not hold an actual practice on Wednesday, but rather a walkthrough. So this injury report is an estimation of each player’s status had it been a normal practice.
In the Colts’ most recent game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Gardner and Zaire Franklin were the only two Colts’ defenders to play all 96 defensive snaps, according to PFF.
In his two games with the Colts, Gardner has allowed five receptions on 10 targets for 38 yards with two pass breakups. He’s also made 12 tackles.
“He’s a very aware player,” Lou Anarumo said of Gardner last week. “Very smart, very intelligent guy. Picked up the system very well.”
For now, we will remain in wait-and-see mode and see what the rest of the week holds for Gardner and his practice status.
Along with Gardner being limited, so was quarterback Daniel Jones with a fibula injury. Shane Steichen, however, made it clear that Jones will be “good to go” for this week’s game.
Linebacker Jaylon Carlies (ankle), who was designated to return to practice last week from injured reserve, was a full participant on Wednesday. Carlies was a full participant all three days last week before being ruled out of the Chiefs’ game.
Defensive tackle Neville Gallimore was listed as limited with a knee injury. Gallimore played 39 defensive snaps on Sunday — the third-most among Colts’ defensive tackles.
