Where does Bucs' Baker Mayfield fit in latest QB power rankings for Week 12?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a loss to a tough Buffalo Bills team in Week 11. The Bucs had a chance to build some much-needed momentum heading into a tough Week 12 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Now, they are left picking up the pieces with their third straight loss following their Bye Week.

Within that stretch of games, the play of Baker Mayfield at the quarterback position has remained high. While he may not be the MVP frontrunner he once was, he has been the reason they remain in games for nearly all 60 minutes despite the result. CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin looked at the play of Mayfield from this past week ahead of the team’s next matchup.

Benjamin’s quarterback power rankings for Week 12 were published this week. He gave Mayfield the seventh spot and actually had him go up three spots despite the loss. He writes, “It’s fitting that Mayfield is known as much for his tenacity as his actual passing production because he’s been the face of Tampa Bay’s never-say-die outfit with countless reserves called upon to step up.”

Mayfield has remained in the top ten for most of the season, but playing well against a talented Rams defense may have him within the top five when it is all said and done.
