What Liam Coen said to Trevor Lawrence in midst of turnover-filled day

In what was an up-and-down performance from Trevor Lawrence in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 12 overtime win over Arizona, what did head coach Liam Coen say to his quarterback as the game unfolded?

Lawrence finished the game completing 18-of-30 passes for 256 yards with three touchdowns. However, he also had three interceptions and lost a fumble.

Off of those four turnovers, the Cardinals were able to come away with 14 points. It’s not often that a team is able to overcome a 4-0 turnover deficit, but the Jaguars did on Sunday, with the help of Lawrence.

While those giveaways are certainly plays Lawrence would like to have back, he also threw a pair of second-half touchdown passes that gave the Jaguars the lead in each instance.

Lawrence then completed a 25-yard pass to Parker Washington in overtime to put the Jaguars in field goal range of the eventual game winner.

“I just hit him a few times after and was just like, ‘Dude, just keep chucking it, man. What are we going to do?”’ Coen said, via Jaguars.com. “He was bummed. He was pissed about it, but he kept saying confidently, ‘I feel good. I’m throwing it good. I’m seeing it good.’ Those are just the ebbs and flows of an NFL game on the road, and we pulled out a win.”

The Jacksonville offense was able to generate several chunk plays through the air, with Brenton Strange hauling in a 30-yard catch, Washington the aforementioned 25-yard catch, and Jakobi Meyers a 17-yard catch.

Despite the giveaways, as Lawrence said afterward, his confidence never wavered, and that was showcased late in the game.
