Two men arrested in connection with Deltona home break-in attempt

Two of the four men accused of shooting up a Deltona home in a break-in attempt last week have been arrested, according to a Nov. 27 Facebook update by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

Jamar Re’Shaun Battle and James Jermaine Cropper Jr., both 18 of Orlando, were taken into custody with the assistance of the Orlando Police Department’s Gang Task Force and Probation & Parole.

The sheriff’s office update did not specify the charges both men are facing but noted both suspects have multiple prior felony and misdemeanor charges.

The News-Journal has reached out to the sheriff’s office.

According to the department’s original social media post on Nov. 19, the day of the incident, the four men tried to gain access to the Wainwright Street home around 4 a.m. but were unsuccessful.

“When they couldn’t break in, they fired multiple rounds into the house,” the post said. “Responding deputies located the suspect vehicle on I-4 and pursued it into Orange County before losing sight of it.”

No one was injured, according to the agency.

The case remains an active investigation.
