The Town of Palm Beach United Way will kick off the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 27 with its 17th annual Turkey Trot 5K.
About 1,600 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the sold-out event, which will fund Thanksgiving meals for local families in need.
The course is confined entirely to the North End of Palm Beach. It takes participants from Bradley Park to North County Road and under its landmarked tree canopy, then along the waterfront and back down Lake Trail to the park.
Last year’s event raised a total of $72,660 for the Town of Palm Beach United Way. That money went to 27 local nonprofit agencies, allowing them to provide 6,288 meals to Palm Beach County residents in need.
Francesca Coniglio Finck, who co-chaired 2024 event, last November told the Daily News that the event had grown over the years, “which is really beautiful to see, because our purpose is to give back to the community, so the more people that join, the more we’re able to give back.”
Coniglio Finck will again co-chair this year’s event with her husband, William Finck, her sister, Gabrielle Coniglio Fricker, and her brother-in-law, Scott Fricker. Cara Coniglio McClure and her husband, Jared, are honorary co-chairs.
The event starts at 7 a.m. with the Kids’ Drumstick Dash, followed by the 5K at 7:30 a.m.
For those who can’t join the race but would still like to contribute, donations are being accepted online at PalmBeachUnitedWay.org/Turkey-Trot.
The donations will go toward helping provide holiday meals to individuals and families in need in Palm Beach County.
This year’s race is underwritten by Premier Sponsors Livingston Builders Inc. and the Palm Beach Police & Fire Foundation. Title Sponsors are Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Lisa Wilkinson and Cara Coniglio McClure, and Findlay Galleries.
