Lakeland police investigating shooting. At least one injured

Lakeland Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the city’s midtown area the afternoon of Nov. 24.

Lakeland police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of North Brunnell Parkway on Nov. 24. One individual was shot and has been taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center where they are receiving treatment.

Stephanie Kerr, LPD spokeswoman, said officers has swept through the area for any suspects and had a helicopter in the area for aerial support. There is no active threat to the general public, Kerr said.

Police are not tracking any specific suspect, but are still searching for any persons involved or witnesses.
