FSU falls to NC State, and in USA TODAY Sports' CFB re-rank

After the Florida State Seminoles fell to the NC State Wolfpack in an embarrassing 21-11 game, their ACC record fell to 2-6. Shockingly their rank in Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports’ college football rerank, the Seminoles’ position moved down significantly.

In last week’s poll, the Seminoles were ranked 67th of 136 teams. In his new re-rank of all 136 FBS teams in the country, Paul Myerberg moved Florida State down to No. 78, well below the threshold of the bottom 50% nationally.

Surrounding the Seminoles are No. 77 Jacksonville State and No. 79 Troy. It is so hard to believe that this team was once ranked in the top 10 just a few short months ago. That has come and gone, unfortunately. With their 5-6 record, it is possible for them to get back into the top 50%, but they will have to take care of business against the Gators this Saturday.

Somehow, they are also still ahead of Florida in the rankings by five spots. Hang the banner!

The Seminoles will look to clinch bowl eligibility when they travel to The Swamp in Gainesville for their final regular-season game of the season. The game will start at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
