The FSU Seminoles picked up a crucial win on Saturday, beating the Virginia Tech Hokies 34-14 in their final home game of the season. They are now 5-5 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
They were able to take control of the game in the second and third quarters, using 21 straight points and six straight scoring drives to pull away in Doak Campbell Stadium on Senior Night. Linebacker Ethan Pritchard, who is recovering after getting shot in the head, was able to attend the game, something players and coaches pointed out as meaningful.
The Seminoles now need just one more win to become eligible for a bowl, and will have two games to do so. ESPN’s matchup predictor likes their chances to do so, favoring them in their two remaining games, which would give them a final record of 7-5, a substantial improvement over last year’s 2-10 performance, but still below the standard at FSU. Unfortunately for the Seminoles, they are 0-3 on the road this season and have not played well at all away from home.
Here are ESPN’s updated predictions for FSU’s final two games on the schedule. ESPN runs 20,000 simulations for each game, and the chances are updated after each week.
